wick postman sent to jail

A postman who stole 13 packages was jailed for over three months when he appeared at Wick Sheriff Court on Monday.

Robert Mcilroy (48) of Scrafs Craig Place, Wick pleaded guilty to the offence that he committed on Monday, June 11 while making deliveries between Inverness and Wick

Sheriff Andrew Berry said that the breach of trust was so severe, he was left with little option but to send him to jail.

Mcilroy was sentenced to 100 days in prison which was reduced from five months due to his guilty plea.
