HIGHLAND Council is to give priority to community and volunteer organisations in Wick as it makes available £104,000 for deprived areas.
Applications can now be made for the Deprived Area Fund to help develop activities aimed at improving quality of life and regenerating communities in eligible areas, which include Wick South, South Head, Pulteneytown South and Hillhead.
Priority will be given to projects that create jobs for people who are furthest removed from the labour market and live within the targeted areas, which also takes in parts of Alness, Fort William, Invergordon, Inverness, and Seaboard.
