YOUNG mothers who offer help and advice to their peers are set to extend their service thanks to a boost from the Wider Role Fund.
Ormlie Young Mums, the Thurso-based project which provides a wide range of support and advice to 33 young mothers in and around the town, has been granted £15,255 after Pentland Housing Association successfully applied for a funding package.
The group will now expand to the east of the county and will operate help and advice sessions in the Wick Family Centre every Friday starting on August 19 between 1pm and 3pm.
Topics covered will include health and wellbeing, fitness, child development, knowing your rights, housing issues, employment and further education, and confidence and skill-building.
