PAEDOPHILE presenter Jimmy Savile was banned from Children In Need because of concerns about his behaviour, a former top BBC executive has revealed.
The news comes on the day that an inquiry is launched into the BBC's "culture and practices", during the presenter's sex abuse campaign.
Former Children In Need Chairman, Sir Roger Jones, said that the decision was made to keep Savile away from the annual fundraiser for disadvantaged kids.
He said: "I think we all recognised he was a pretty creepy sort of character.
"When I was with Children In Need we took the decision that we didn't want him anywhere near the charity and we just stepped up our child protection policies - which again would have put him at risk if he tried anything."
