JIMMY Savile’s former flatmate and chauffeur was arrested today over historic abuse allegations.

Ray Teret, 71, was taken into custody after Greater Manchester police swooped on an address in Altrincham, Cheshire. Cops also arrested a second man aged 61.

The men were held by detectives investigating three separate claims of sexual abuse. Both were nicked on suspicion of rape.

The claims do not relate to any involvement by Savile, police said.

Police launched Operation Yewtree following allegations made about Jimmy Savile
A man in his 80s is being interviewed by detectives investigating child abuse allegations linked to Jimmy Savile.

The man, from Berkshire, attended a south London police station by appointment and is now being interviewed under caution.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Operation Yewtree searched an address in Berkshire on Saturday.

The police said he was being interviewed as part of the inquiry that does not directly relate to Savile.

Ray Teret was a DJ in the 60s, his brother Tony Teret was also a DJ at the three coins in Leeds where we used to go...also in the Twisted Wheel in Manchester. It's amazing isnt it! I didn't actually know them as friends but knew them...
I have a friend who worked at the Mecca in Leeds when Savile was there and he drove her and some other girls home after work all the time, she'd been in everyone of his flashy cars..and she said nothing ever happened and she'd known him for a long time....I said to her that she was either too old at the time or the wrong sex!
