THE body of a man has been found in the Thurso East area.
Police confirmed the discovery which was made around 12.30pm today.
Inquiries are at a very early stage and the remains have not yet been identified.
Northern Constabulary has been conducting searches over the past few days in the area for missing Thurso man Stephen McGurk.
His family have been made aware of the find.
Mr McGurk (38), originally from Glasgow, was last seen in the town on Sunday afternoon.
