A PAEDOPHILE who raped and emotionally blackmailed a girl has had his 14-year sentence slashed on appeal.

Van Newman, aged 55, of Fraser Road, Woodseats, Sheffield, was handed the jail term at Sheffield Crown Court in May after admitting a string of sex crimes - including repeated rapes, indecent assaults, and offences of illicit sexual activity.

He admitted 13 specimen charges of rape dating back to when the girl was seven until she was 12, two specimen counts of indecent assault, and two other sex offences with the girl when she was 13.

Paedophiles should serve their sentence in a specially designed cell (every prison should have a few) where you step at least 3 inches DOWN into it, the cell floor should be covered with at least 2 inches of quicklime, oh i nearly forgot, no footwear allowed inside the cell. THAT, is how they should be punished, (wonder how long it would take for them to lose an inch in height.

PAEdophiles need a proper deterrant not just prison ! how about electric shock treatment everytime they look at a picture of a child and become sexually aroused then "ZAAP" there was some kind of trial using electric shock done in the USA back in the fifties and it apparently worked!!

I got a load of grief on another forum for saying the same thing!!
I know some people do not have the iq to know they are doing wrong as they have the mind of a child, but people like that should be in a place to protect them for thier themselves (I know of some adults with the mental capacity of 6 year olds but are in adult bodies , they are in special homes that deal with that side) It is the adults who KNOW what they are doing that get on my !!!

We had one that only got probation for having sex with a twelve year old !! He had been having sex for two years when she told a school friend!! he was moved from the area as the police were worried about HIS safety!!! FFS they should have left him here as he would have had proper justice not a slap on the hand!
