A BRITISH tourist has been shot dead

A BRITISH tourist has been shot dead while he danced at a New Year’s Eve party in Thailand.

Stephen Ashton, 22, is believed to have been caught in the crossfire after a fight erupted between two local gangs.

He was killed as he celebrated the New Year with friends at a beach bar on popular island Koh Phangan.

Witnesses described how two groups of Thai youths got into a fist-fight at around 4am.

One group is said to have ran from the bar before a man turned around and fired his gun back inside.
