Foot chases where police are chasing a suspect never appear in the movies as they are in real life. I’ve never seen a movie where a suspect running from police jumps over a wall and falls to his death. Maybe that’s because it’s too hard to believe it would really happen that way.
Unfortunately, that’s just what happened in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Gate.
The suspect got caught trying to break into a car and fled the scene on foot, which is dumb because you’re already stealing a car. Why not just get away from police in the car? Something tells me his IQ matched one of the numbers on the odometer.
The suspect runs from police, jumps over a three foot wall that turns out to be 200 feet and falls to his death. The coroner determined he died at the scene, which is a waste of taxpayer money. If you’re from anything that’s 200 feet, you should just get a guy walking by to look at the wall, look at the body, wait for him to say “Damn, you know he’s dead” and give the coroner the day off.
Now for those of you who think we’re being cruel, here’s the dumb part: if you’re jumping over a wall, wouldn’t you look first to see how far down it was? That’s not supreme-intellectual behavior. That’s just plain common sense. Of course, that’s too much to ask for in this country.
