| A first-class stamp will rise in price from 46p to 60p from 30 April after the regulator lifted some price controls on Royal Mail.
A second-class stamp will go up from 36p to 50p - some 5p below the top price allowed by Ofcom.
The regulator has allowed Royal Mail to set the price of first-class and business mail. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17522500
dosnt sound much but its a 30% increase who needs a budget, its the little things that get us in the end, everything adds up

| Doesn't sound much but sending 10 Xmas cards first class will rise from £4.60 to £6.00. Also prescription charges are going up from £7.40 to £7.65 I believe. Luckily I don't pay so I'll be saving £45.90 a year | |

| Our surface mail has been 60 cents for a couple of years or so now, and is going up to 70 cents in the next month or so.. Our air mail has been $1.20 for some time, this will probably go up with the cost of avgas going up in price, so probably at least 10 cents on air mail too..
I would've thought with the postal people having more technology these days and less staff, they'd keep the prices down a bit more.. seems to me it's little wonder they're losing business to emails these days at the current prices...
