AN offshore worker from Wick has admitted assaulting a pensioner in a chip shop.
Appearing from custody on Thursday at Wick Sheriff Court, Andrew Miller (22), of Hill Avenue, admitted punching the head of a 65-year-old man in Robin’s chip shop in Thurso’s Princes Street.
The court heard the offence took place at around 10.30pm on Wednesday night.
Honorary sheriff Bruce de Wert continued the case until Monday.
Miler was granted bail with the special conditions he does not approach the victim or enter the shop.
He is also to abide by a 7pm-to-7am curfew until the case calls again.
