| Think its a bit of a catch twenty two mate , Though i agree with you and it would be nice for them to learn to speak the language of the country they decide to reside in ,And it would save money and resources . But then again there is loads of ex pats etc living abroad whom dont learn the language ,But choose to live in villages etc that people speak english as well as the language of the country . There is a few lithaunans (sorry hangover spelling crap today ,brain aint working ) Whom have enrolled in night classes to learn Irish and English .So i guess some to learn some dont seem to feel the need .
Great post by the way . | |

| I have no objection to anybody coming to live in this country but yes I do think at least one person in the "family" should speak English.I think no matter what country you go to live in you should not only learn the language but also the culture, not expect the "host" country to change things,ie schools, close swimming baths down on certain days so just the muslin women can use it.Let us all live together...not have the country divided into little blocks of black and white. |

| I think that any country you go to you should be able to speak at least some of the language..more so if you want to live there..not just talking of people coming to live here but about people living in any country..we had to learn some of the language when we went abroad with the school when young..helps when you need the loo if anything | |

| I think (if I remember right) when you go for an interview at the dole they ask if you need one before you go.. | |

| the employer has to provide an interpretor if they want to interview them..they will know when filling in the job application form if they are foreign..it has a section in most job forms asking if you are allowed to work in the uk (it has in every one I've filled in lately) so they'll know with that if they from abroad and the details and when they send out the letter for the interview it will ask them if they need one | |

| If you have a form to fill in say for DLA or the likes and you don't understand English the SS will send somebody to fill the form in for you. Something else to annoy you WG |
