Brave amputee's wedding joy

Determined Doug Forbis lost his legs, but now he has found love.

Doug, 24, whose legs were amputated when he was a baby, plans to marry traffic cop Elizabeth Tilden, 24.

The inspiration, of Greenville, south Carolina, walks on his hands, swims and climbs, plays basketball or frisbee and drives a special car.

Doug, who lost his legs after his spine failed to develop, said: "my condition has not stopped me doing anything I want."

Bless him. When ever I read something like this I say to myself "I'll never moan about anything ever again" but I do and probably will do for the rest of my life but I think he's marvellous. Such an inspiration.

i have nothing but respect for those people they dont wallow in pity and they just get on with it

I sit at times feeling sorry for myself due to my disabilities but whenever I see something like this I feel gratefull for my life!!

We all have problems but to read something like this makes you stop and think..WTG Doug

I did 22 years "Army" 3 tours Ireland was ifo in Sinia (82) and have been to places you would not believe !! some of the things I have seen were horendous and I am glad I saw and survived my tours!!! shame for the poor buggers that did not Rest Thier Souls!!!
