Do You Do Your Bit to Save The World?

Recycling, saving energy, water etc?

I do recycle a lot of stuff now but only because our local council supplied us with what seems like an endless amout of different bins. I thought it was a load of twaddle and extra effort at first, but guess I've got used to it now. I do turn off lights if they are not being used and dont leave the tv on standby, but that might be more to save on my electric bill. Lol

i alway's put paper in the paper bin...and turn off alll ilights....hang washing out instead of useing tumble drier!

and yes it does save our electric bill candy

I have three bins, One for bottles,cans and Tins, One for normal rubbish and one for cardboard, garden rubbish and food scrabs (as long as they can go on a compost heap. I also have a bag for old clothes and shoes and another bag for newspapers and magazines.

I do have to leave a light on at night though, I don't like the dark :shock:

I have unplugged everything I never use including room fresheners. I leave a very small night light on in here at night as it faces the street so it looks like some one is here.

i recycle nothing , we got three bin s use just one, hate those stupid energy saving lights that are so bloody dim you gotta put ten on, every thing is left on stand by at night,
life s to bloody short to cut corner s in comfort . i ll enjoy it while im here n i always maintain that i ll never be the richest resident in the graveyard.

I recycle everything I can.Use all the right bins ,don't leave lights on ...yes that does save my bill .Never use air fresheners of any kind.I do this not because I am Ms perfect ...far from it but because I want my grand kids and their grand kids to see the lovely things that are still left in the world that man has not distroyed.This is IMO each to their own.

I don't have the green bins because we have steps up to our garden and although we'd said we'd take the wheelies out we aren't allowed them so we have two old fashioned black bins..
I have just had the house rewired so all my light fittings are fitted with the energy saving bulbs but they're not like those dim things but more like little flourescent ones and very bright, the oly downside is that it's difficult to get light shades wide enough to fit.
I never leave anything on standby...too tight... I don't own a tumble dryer and don't drive..

im a right energy saver apparantly ive no electric at the flat so im told so i better go sort that tomorrow eh

I recycle paper, glass and plastic. When I need a new light bulb I get florescent. When I run errands and stuff, I try to get as much done in one trip to save gas.

Not sure if that's gonna save the world though.
