Police in Inverness are advising members of the public to be aware of a computer scam that has been reported to them.
The scam involves a pop-up message on personal computers from perpetrators alleging to be from Met or Yorkshire Police and that the user is required to pay £100 immediately as they have been viewing illegal images.
Police received two reports yesterday and would like to advise the public that no Police Force would contact the public by this means and would never request money directly.
