| Alcohol sensors should be in every car to cut drink-related road deaths and injuries, says the government's former chief drugs adviser.
David Nutt says motorists would have to breathe into the devices before starting their car, to test they were not over the limit.
Prof Nutt was sacked from his post three years ago after clashing with Labour ministers over drugs policy.
He later set up the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs.

| Why should I as a non drinker have to go to the expense of having it fitted. Will there be a similar device to test for drug use when driving Maybe something to actually make sure your awake | |

| I can see it now.. "Blow this for me please mate" They were talking about putting these gadgets in all new cars here at one stage because there's so many repeat drunk drivers here, dunno what's happened about it yet... | |

Good idea. I'd like to see some kind of sensor for the idiots who use their mobiles whilst driving. That's really annoys me. People die because of shit like this. | |
