| A teenager has been arrested after a missing 10-year-old girl was found with serious head injuries.
The girl was reported missing from her home in Stockton at 18:30 BST on Friday and a massive search was launched involving the police helicopter.
She was found two hours later in Maritime Way, Stockton, with serious but not life-threatening head injuries, Cleveland Police said.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of assault.
The injured girl was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary where she is being cared for by paediatric specialists, police said. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-17651305

| A 16 year old boy!! it's disgusting he wants some serious treatment before being allowed out to do it to another little girl...the poor child, it doesn't bare thinking about! It's a scary world for the youngsters these days..there doesn't seem to be any consequence for anything now and yobs and the like know they can get away with anything with just a slap on the wrist and told to behave in future..I worry for my young grandkids and what kind of world they're growing up into. | |

| Dianne I agree. I have 6 granddaughters and I would seriously injure anyone who harmed them in anyway! | |

| Awful to see this, I have 4 younger children myself and I will admit that I am wary about them going out and about on their own around the streets especially my eldest now that he is old enough to be able to do so, there are so many cruel people out there, it's awful. | |
