Friends Reunited relaunches site with 'nostalgia' focus

Early social networking pioneer Friends Reunited has been relaunched.

The UK-based network, which first began in 2000, now invites users to sign up for its new "memories"-based service.

The original site was bought by ITV for £175m in 2005, only to be sold for £25.6m four years later to online publishing group Brightsolid.

I used to be on there a while ago and that was how I got back in contact with many of my friends before migrating to Facebook :) may go and take a look see if it's worth getting rid of FB for :)

I've got an account on it but haven't looked in for years :)

Just taken a look and to be honest it's rubbish now.

Yeah I agree, it doesn't look as good as it was before. Not too sure on the memory thing to be honest.

I wondered where it went, I joined up over 10 years ago, logged in one day and it wouldn't work.. kid of looks like someone got a good tax loss when they sold it anyway.. might look at joining again some time...

I liked looking at all the old photos of my hometown, brought back lots of memories...
It won't ever replace Facebook but I will pop back now and again.

Seeing the "then and now" pics are kinda cool eh...

I can't even get a look at it. It just says, sorry this page cannot be found. I do have a membership but its obviously not much good to me now.

I got in with my old one as well and its shyte. I've just cancelled my membership.
