Horrible Murder in Cumnock

A young man was beaten and set on fire at the weekend in Cumnock. The police seem to think the attack was connected with his sexuality. What ever happened to live and let live....................... Full Story

my daughter's boyfriend is from cumnock and she was up there at the weekend when they heard of this..he was targetted for being gay..they say he'd been tied up and beaten before being set alight..carrie said last night when she was coming home on the bus they were letting off lots of chinese lanterns for the lad it brought her to tears

daft idiots when they get caught there gonna be watching the soap dont fall out of their hands in the showers at barrlinnie

But I've heard unofficially that there have been three teenage girls and two teenage boys taken in for questioning. That's local news and not been confirmed yet.

there's a friend of my daughter who has a cousin that's been taken in..carrie's friend is ashamed even though she doesn't talk to her cousin they have the same unusual spanish surname which everyone knows they are related but she knows if he has anything to do with it he deserves all he gets

our Gordon was on the fone last night his lassie got the lad a job pauline said he came in with a box of choclates and a card thanking her for her help they still have the card up in the office, she's awful upset about it seems he was a lovely person.............they heard that 4 lassie's and 2 blokes were supposed to have been involved i hope they string them up

They've charged an 18 year old lad with the murder and he'll be in court on Monday Morning. His name's Ryan Esquierdo. Here's the update...............

yep..that's the cousin of my daughter's friend..even though they don't live anywhere near but have the misfortune of having the same surname her and her family are getting stick for it...but it doesn't surprise me with him being arrested..they are a rough lot up there ..even carrie's friend and carrie will tell you that

That's the same guy that was bleating to the press the other day about everyone in Cumnock blaming his family for the murder. He swore it was nothing to do with him, that he's settled down now. Next thing we know he's been charged.

You're right cookie..................I got that wrong. He was in court this afternoon to be formally charged. I don't know how long it will be before he's back. Unfortunately, its like you say, anyone with the same surname is going to be in the firing line and unfortunately its a very unusual surname. An awful business all round.

well my daughter was at cumnock at the weekend and she's saying they think he's covering for somebody ...it's just one of those things that you cant believe anyone could do such a thing

And it takes so long for the whole story to come out. We may never know.
