| Spectators at the Olympic Games will not be allowed to take drinks or liquids in more than 100ml containers, like sunscreen, into 2012 venues.
Games organisers Locog have set out forbidden items in their ticket terms.
Sports fans and family groups have raised concerns about heat and expense at the 27 July-12 August Games.
But Locog said free water would be available across the venues, and the rules, including on how much food people can take, were being finalised. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15110730

| Damn... that's like a lot of the international rugby and cricket games here, no booze allowed. That means buying it there at more than triple pub prices as well as a limit on how often you can buy during the game... kid of sucks the big lemon in my opinion, I reckon you should be able to take a limited supply with you... | |

| I think that's reasonably fair as you've still got the the threat of terrorism or people getting too drunk and ruinning the olympics. But free water is the best compromise especially as it rehydrates you even more. :3 | |

| It is the same here you are not allowed to take drinks into any sporting event.
I am afraid all our lives changed since 9/11. Water is the cheapest and best for you in the heat.

| I still feel that if we go to say a rugby game between NZ and England, it should be okay to have a small amount of booze per person... for instance, if there's 4 of you go to a game, then maybe a maximum of 6 cans per person could be allowed.
At most games here there's security on the gates, so they're allowed to check bags and such and if someone has too much booze with them, they can take it off them until after the game, failing that, they can refuse entry if the person doesn't hand it over, or is already a little too topped up.
We're allowed to take food and non alcoholic drinks in no probs, so why not limit the amount of booze that goes in?...
