we used to get a reepenny mix

chips peas and scraps
and that was considered a treat

We used to tare newspaper up in the chippy just to get a bag of chips....never heard of a threepenny mix..

You have the mushy peas really thick roll them into a ball then dip them in batter....then drop into hot oil and pray they'll stay in one piece
