Definitely not fair.................whatever happened to freedom of speech. Removing a post is acceptable if its seriously offensive or takes the form of a personal attack but I think a bit of tolerance and a sense of humour are compulsory on these sites. I didn't see the post in question but I don't agree with it being taken off because one person complained. In my opinion if you don't like the direction a discussion is taking then you don't get involved in it.

Simple.

The problem is that the post was seen as off topic and/or poking fun at the original topic in the serious section. That forum was set up for serious, on-topic discussions. We have the rest of the forum to gad about and go in a hundred different directions if we want.

I'm not answering the poll question as it is too general in this case. We aren't given all the information.

I can understand that to a degree saffyre but surely there's nothing wrong with injecting a bit of light relief into the serious posts, as long as they're not being taken way off topic. In my experience a bit of humour helps the topic along and encourages more people to get involved in the discussions. From a personal point of view if I'm following a serious discussion and someone moves it slightly off topic, I find its a simple job to steer it back on again. I don't think lodging a complaint is the sensible way to go and in my opinion this was an over-reaction on the part of the complainer and the admin. Obviously I don't expect everyone to agree with me but I feel I am entitled to my opinion on this and thats my opinion.

I really cant comment on this matter without knowing all the facts but i do believe if anyone has got a complaint regarding any member they should speak to the member in question first before making a complaint to the site
A member should be given the chance to defend themselfs and explain their reasons for doing or saying what they did
